Houston Zoo for Zoo Boo, Houston’s largest family-friendly Halloween event, will take place on every Friday-Sunday in the month of October. Friday dates are Oct. 21 and 28 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday-Sunday dates are 22-23, 29-30 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., and then there’s Monday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Village Creek Festival

One of the most anticipated fall festivals of the year returns Oct. 27-29 as the Lumberton Chamber of Commerce hosts the 26th annual Village Creek Festival held at Lumberton City Park (1300 Highway 421).

The Museum of the Gulf Coast in Port Arthur held a free wildlife extravaganza and children’s art show on Saturday, Oct. 8. This family fun day was held to celebrate a new wildlife art exhibit featuring pieces from Houston artist Vickie McMillan and Port Arthur artist Albert Faggard.

If there’s something strange in Gladys City, then it is probably time for another Spookfest at Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum. The Spookfest will be held Thursday, Oct. 27, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. with trick or treating through the boomtown buildings and fun activities for “ghouls” and “goblins” of all ages.
