The Beaumont Police Department was called to Parkdale Mall on Thursday, May 23, at about 10 a.m. in reference to a theft that had just taken place

Witnesses told responding Beaumont police officers a suspect had just stolen two purses from women inside the mall and was last seen running towards Fudruckers. Additional officers quickly arrived in the area and apprehended the suspect, identified as Moses Rhine, 18, of Beaumont, at the intersection of Dowlen and Treadway.

The Beaumont Police Department was called to the 3200 block of Ashwood in reference to shots fired on Tuesday, May 21, at about 11:15 p.m.

On Thursday, May 23, officers with the Port Arthur Police Department were called to a business in the 3700 block of Memorial Blvd. in reference to a loud disturbance.

As officers arrived, they located a female with a gunshot wound to the arm. During the investigation, the victim refused to cooperate with police. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was treated and released.

The Port Arthur Police Department respondedf to a residence in the 3900 block of Seventh Street on Friday, May 24, just before 10 p.m. 

Arriving officers found a 46-year-old black male had been stabbed numerous times by a family member. He was tranported to St. Elizabeth where he was treated and released with non-life threatening injuries. 

The suspect was located following the incident and arrested for aggravated assault. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the incident.

A Beaumont man who allegedly committed more than a dozen thefts over a nine-month period has been indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury and will face 14 charges of felony theft.
