Keith Sweat is more than just a great voice. He’s an innovator. Born in Harlem, Sweat, now 53, began singing in 1975 but saw his career really take off in the late ’80s when he became the “it” sound for the New Jack Swing era, which lasted for years and paved the wave for other artists.

At this time, there is a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 10 (westbound) on the Purple Heart Bridge.  The crash involves a truck tractor semi-trailer which is leaking diesel fuel.  All westbound lanes are closed and the eastbound inside lane of Interstate 10 is also closed.

High-octane outboard action is coming to the Sabine River once again, as the Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau welcomes back the Deep South Racing Association (DSRA) for the Shootout on the Sabine. Boat races are scheduled for 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The first UIL One Act Play to advance to State from Orange County in 21 years belongs to the Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School Bear Stage Players, and the last chance to see Epic Proportions will be Thursday, May 21, at the LC-M High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. Admission is $5.
