The Port Arthur City Council voted unanimously at its March 31 meeting to approve a forensic audit of the city’s finances, an audit requested by Jefferson County’s First Criminal District Attorney Cory Crenshaw in December 2014 correspondence while he was acting as interim DA, and demanded by Port Arthur citizens.

The Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School Mock Trial Team participated in the 36th annual Texas High School Mock Trial Competition in March. Twenty-eight high school teams from across Texas competed in Dallas, arguing a hypothetical court case. These teams, which emerged as the best in their school districts/regions, were matched against one another, culminating in a final championship round Saturday evening at the Earle Cabell Federal Building.
