The Beaumont Chamber of Commerce has narrowed its search for a new president down to a lone finalist. Regina Lindsey is a former Silsbee mayor and Lamar University graduate currently working in economic development in Houston.


Regina Lindsey, the chief development officer and vice president of economic development for the Greenspoint District in Houston, has been named the lone finalist to succeed Jim Rich at the helm of the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce.

A patrol officer in Orange called for backup Sunday evening after his attempt to cite a local resident for loud music got complicated, resulting in two arrests.

According to a report from OPD Officer Michael Roush, as he was patrolling April 26 at about 7:05 p.m. in the area of 2nd Street and Turret Avenue, he saw a Ford Expedition with the windows down and heard loud music blaring from the vehicle.


At a Tuesday, April 21, meeting of the Beaumont Independent School District Board of Managers, the group decided to put 12 properties up for sale valued at $1.78 million, including property not known to administration until recently.
