The Orange County Sheriff’s Office Employee’s Association has announced the 2017 recipients of the Ray Family Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who are the children of sheriff’s office employees and plan to attend college. The scholarship was created in memory of Capt. Tom Ray and his daughter, Blair Ray. All proceeds for this scholarship are raised by association members. Each recipient will receive $400.

The ninth annual St. Michael Mediterranean Festival will be held Saturday, May 6, at St. Michael Orthodox Christian Church (690 N. 15th St.) from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., rain or shine. There will be traditional cuisine from Greece and other Mediterranean countries, along with a variety of unique ethnic goods on sale at the bazaar, and diverse entertainment. Admission to the festival is free.

On April 9, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint in reference to Ivy R. Monceaux, 46, of DeRidder, possessing a cell phone that contained inappropriate images of children.

Do you know this suspect? On April 30, this white male went to a local pharmacy and reportedly committed theft, the Beaumont Police Department said in a release.

He has long black curly hair and is wearing a bandana to hold it in place.
