May 26, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas added another prosecutor to the sentencing case of former Beaumont Independent School District administrators Patricia Adams Collins Lambert and Victoria Steward. According to a filing at the court, Assistant United States Attorney Robert Wells of Tyler was added as co-counsel in the case.

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s assistance in getting dangerous drug dealers and drug users, along with the poisonous products they carry, off the streets. To that end, The Examiner will periodically feature a list of five persons accused of drug-related crimes here in High Five.

“Crime Stoppers and The Examiner are teaming up to fight the drug problem in Southeast Texas,” Beaumont Police Officer Carol Riley of Crime Stoppers said.

In less than a year’s time, the Dat Mac food truck has made its mark on Southeast Texas cuisine. Last June, owners/operators Jordan Stringer, Aaron Barnhill and Caleb Lewis made a bold foray into the growing food truck industry. Artists looking for a place to show off their latest creations need look no further than The Alternative Show at The Art Studio Inc. in June. This first-come, first-served art exhibition will take free submissions through June 2.

The show will open Saturday, June 4, with a reception from 7-10 p.m. in TASI’s gallery at 720 Franklin in downtown Beaumont. The exhibition runs through June 25.
