Vietnam War graffiti salvaged from a troop ship is now on display through Aug. 30 at the Museum of the Gulf Coast in an exhibit titled Marking Time: Voyages to Vietnam. The exhibit presents the stories, through graffiti left on a troopship’s bunk canvases, of young American soldiers and Marines going to Vietnam during the 1960s, and their stories reflect the attitudes and events during a turbulent decade of our nation’s history.

The Officer Bryan Hebert Memorial Foundation will host a fish fry fundraiser on Thursday, June 25 at Performance Car Audio in Beaumont.

For $10, guests can purchase a fish plate served with hushpuppies, fries and a bottled water. Dine-in and drive-thru pick up services will be available from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Proceeds from this benefit are used to provide full paid scholarships for cadets to attend the Lamar Institute of Technology's Regional Police Academy in honor of fallen police officer, Bryan Hebert.
