If you’re in the movie business, summer starts way before the official date. The sequel to “Guardians of the Galaxy” is slaying it at the box office right now, and there will soon be others vying for the top prize of highest grossing movie of the summer. Among the big blockbusters yet to come are the usual fare of superheroes—”Wonder Woman” (June 2) and “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (July 7).

It’s time to dive into those delicious mudbugs at the 32nd annual Boys’ Haven Crawfish Festival, which takes place Saturday, May 13, at Parkdale Mall near Brightwood College in Beaumont.

The festival features great live music from zydeco, country, Texas rock and oldies, plus a free kids area along with a petting zoo. There will also be a classic car show with street rods, rat rods, motorcycles and choppers.

Get your crab on at the 32nd annual Texas Crab Festival happening this Mother’s Day weekend from Friday, May 12, through Sunday, May 14, at Gregory Park (2292 Highway 87) in Crystal Beach. Admission is $10 on Friday and Saturday (children 12 and under free) and free on Sunday, which is Mother’s Day.

Enjoy a variety of fresh, unique crab and seafood dishes along with traditional festival favorites. Sit down to a table full of flavor with barbecue crabs, a big bowl of gumbo and a bucket of crawfish while you jam to music from the main stage.
