Classic Movie Night continues with Pixar’s first feature computer-animated film, Toy Story, on Friday, July 29, at the historic Jefferson Theatre (345 Fannin) in downtown Beaumont. The 1995 film earned more than $362 million at the box office and features the voices of Tom Hanks and Tim Allen. A cowboy doll is profoundly threatened and jealous when a new spaceman figure replaces him as the 6-year-old boy’s favorite toy. The film is 1 hours and 21 minutes and rated G.

The cast is set and rehearsals are finished for Lamar State College Port Arthur’s summer musical Mary Poppins, which begins July 29-31, Aug. 5-7 and Aug. 12-13 at the main theater located inside the Dr. Sam and Linda Monroe Performing Arts Center (1500 Procter St.). Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m. with Sunday matinee curtain going up at 2:30 p.m. Ticket reservations are available by calling (409) 984-6111.

Mobiloil Credit Union will host its Investing in You business forum Tuesday, Aug. 23, from 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Event Centre, 700 Crockett St., Beaumont.

You do not have to be a member of the credit union to attend this free event.

The forum, geared toward business leaders, will feature two keynote speakers along with other sessions that will empower individuals to become better leaders within their organization, said Tabetha Franklin, marketing director for Mobiloil Federal Credit Union in Beaumont.
