Red, White and Wow! … Lamar University President James Simmons earned another elite honor with induction into the Phi Beta Mu Texas Bandmasters Hall of Fame at the latest Texas Bandmasters Association annual convention in San Antonio. In selecting Simmons to become part of the Hall of Fame 2012 class, the international bandmasters fraternity continues its tradition of honoring outstanding Texas band directors. Simmons was thrilled to observe that the honor puts him in the record books with his mentors and up for recognition by his peers.
