Crusin’ 2-A Cure … Once again the American Cancer Society 2011 Cattle Barons’ Ball was a sold-out success. Chaired by Mike Simpson and Pat Anderson, along with co-chairs Tara and Charlie Holder, the packed “house” at the Philpott Hangar went off without a hitch. Social swells donned their fab cowgirl and cowboy gear to dance to the sounds of Darryl Worley.
So fashionable … The Arc of Greater Beaumont will host the 2011 Stars of the Arc Celebrity Style Show and Annual Dinner on Friday, April 29, at 6:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Beaumont Plaza. The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of six prestigious awards by emcees Kelli and Bob Phillips. Co-chairing this designer event will be Toye Babb and Sandy Drake. Beaumont Mayor Becky Ames will be honored with the Arc Excellence in Community Collaboration Award.
Rolling down the Neches ... After a whirlwind of activities over two weeks, the 63rd annual Neches River Festival came to a wonderful close Sunday at the farewell brunch held in the lovely home of Crissy and Todd Clarke. Our future Beaumont leaders started the second weekend of the NRF with a get acquainted party co-chaired by Nicole Saba and DynasyPhelan at the Jefferson Theater. Dressing ’80s style, many of the creative seniors brought their own flair to the retro fashion.
