Owner Ed Grissom says his pub is designed to be a place for people to take a break from the daily grind. “It’s still and always has been, I call it, ‘designed as a diffusion.’ You go out into the world, get stressed out, have anxiety. Isn’t it nice to come into a place and just diffuse?”


The dog days of summer are upon us, and with them come scorching heat and humidity so high it feels like the air itself is sweating! Southeast Texans are all too familiar with the rising temperatures from early May until late September, but while basking in the icy-cold blast of the air conditioning, remember your pets also need escape from the sweltering sun.


Thrifty fanatics all over Southeast Texas will be in for a treat on Thursday, July 17, when Trinity United Methodist Church at 3430 Harrison Ave. in Beaumont opens the doors for their annual garage sale at 8 a.m.

For more than 20 years, Trinity Methodist Church has been able to give back to the community by donating proceeds of the sale to local charities. Because of generous Southeast Texans, last year’s garage sale raised more than $30,000 to assist organizations such as Boys’ Haven, Girls’ Haven, Garth House, among many others.
