Facing what seemed like an un-mendable situation recently, I thought of something my old pastor had said to me one time many years ago: “Give God the opportunity to work in your life, and in this situation in particular.” What he was suggesting I do seemed impossible, difficult, time constraining, and very sad to me. You can bet your money on the 24th annual Chef’s Delight and come away knowing you’ll be a winner Tuesday, Oct. 9. Beginning at 6 p.m., The Holiday Inn Beaumont Plaza will be the scene of a wonderful evening of fun, food and fellowship honoring President Jimmy and First Lady Susan Simmons of Lamar University and providing funding for scholarships for culinary students of the future.
