Strokin’ with Mickey Avalon

There’s been a plethora of white rappers such as Eminem, 3rd Bass, Beastie Boys, Bubba Sparxx, House of Pain, Insane Clown Posse, Kottonmouth Kings, Paul Wall, Rehab and Vanilla Ice, just to name a few. Each has had their own niche whether it was rapping clowns, dancing or straight up lyric-slinger. But none are Mickey Avalon.

Kid Fest

The popular Kid Fest will return to the Carl Parker Center on the campus of Lamar State College-Port Arthur on Saturday, June 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Clear Channel Radio and Valero Port Arthur Refinery have once again teamed up to bring hundreds of kids the opportunity to enjoy activities such as fishing, dancing, face painting, arts and crafts and high-flying acrobatic dunking basketball action.

Wrestling

Gulf Coast Power Pro Wrestling returns to the National Guard Armory in Port Neches on Saturday, June 25 with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. The armory is located at 511 Grigsby, which is near Port Neches-Groves High School. Tickets are available at the door for $10 (adults) and $7 (kids). Seating is based on first-come first-serve. Scheduled to appear are Vincent Chase, Zen Zen, the Rough Riders, All-American J-Wayne, Irish Mike, Avarice, Jen Alise, Hambone, The Grappler and many more. GCPPW is a locally owned and operated company out of Port Neches.
