Will Hibbs was selected as its Pitcher of the Week.

April 11 was a big day for the Lamar University baseball team. First, Collegiate Baseball announced that for the first time since 2009, the Cardinals were nationally ranked. And then, the Southland Conference publicized that Will Hibbs was selected as its Pitcher of the Week.

Senior Logan Hillin received a scholarship to play football at Southwestern University in Georgetown, near Austin. The receiver/defensive back totaled 1,011 all-purpose yards last season including 11 touchdowns. He was TAPPS DI-3 Athlete of the Year and a two-time National Honor Society student.

Musical geniuses of The Darkness will grace us with their presence on Tuesday, April 19 as the strapping lads of Britain perform on the Back to the USSA Tour at the House of Blues for an all ages extravaganza.

Courville’s has announced a trio of concerts that will likely sell out sooner rather than later. Known as the “Bruce Springsteen of Canada,” Fred Eaglesmith returns on April 14. The Black Lillies of Knoxville, Tennessee, will perform April 21, and the one and only Walt Wilkins & The Mystiqueros take the stage May 19.
