Music fanatics in Southeast Texas are very familiar with nationally known spin guru Dee Jay Silver. In fact, Silver cut his teeth in Beaumont by spinning music to thousands of those who came to dance at the Dixie Dance Hall on Crockett Street.

Now, Silver has moved up in the DJ scene with residencies in Las Vegas playing such hotspots as LAX in the Luxor and Rehab Pool Party at Hard Rock Hotel, while becoming the first artist in his realm to sign to a major Nashville record label contract with RCA Nashville/Sony Music.

Already have the Christmas shopping blues? Tired of looking for close parking spots at the big box stores only to have to wait in checkout lines for hours? Well here is your chance to celebrate the Holidays with Santa and his special elves on a Christmas cheer journey.

The Beaumont Civic Ballet’s landmark performance of The Nutcracker has been a holiday tradition for the last 44 years, and the 45th year will be even more spectacular as those in attendance experience breathtaking dance and see young Clara’s fascinating adventure unfold through the Land of Snow and Kingdom of Sweets in two separate performances, Saturday, Dec. 10, and Sunday, Dec. 11, at 2:30 p.m.

The holiday season is upon us, but you don’t have to settle for a regular turkey as your main course Thanksgiving. There are plenty of other options. It’s OK to break tradition, and you don’t have to be a Gordon Ramsey in the kitchen. Don’t forget the sides and desserts!
