Four-time Grammy Award winner Jewel will perform at the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on Friday, March 4, with the show beginning at 8:30 p.m. as opening act JD & The Straight Shot take the Grand Event Center stage. Tickets are still available through Ticketmaster for $25-$40. The 41-year-old singer/songwriter is touring in support of her 12th album titled Picking Up the Pieces.

Ubi Caritas will host a first ever St. Patrick’s Festival on Saturday, March 5, at the St. Mark’s Park Garden at 680 Calder Ave. in Beaumont from 4-8 p.m. In year’s past, Ubi Caritas has organized a Mardi Gras Dinner and Dance fundraiser, but this year is switching directions and bringing new light to the organization.

It all started with three teenage brothers with the last name of Wilson — Brian, Carl and Dennis — and their cousin Mike Love, along with school friend Al Jardine, in Hawthorne, California.
