Classic Movie Night goes “classic” with one of the most iconic films in movie history — The Wizard of Oz — on Friday, April 7, at the historic Jefferson Theatre in downtown Beaumont. Based of the 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, the movie was released in 1939 and stars Judy Garland as Dorothy, who gets swept away from her farm in Kansas by a tornado to the fantasy land of Oz. While there, she meets new friends the Tin Man, Cowardly Lion and Scarecrow as she makes her way to see the Wizard to find a way back home.
