Veterans day celebrations

Free photo shoot for veterans

While taking in the festivities that celebrate the contribution of American veterans, those who have served in any branch of the military are invited to commemorate the occasion with a professional photo shoot with YellowBrickByB at Lions Club Veteran Memorial Park, 195 W. Bolivar St. in Vidor.

YellowBrickByB owner and photographer Brittani Stanley said the free public event will be held at the park from 7 a.m. until sunset.

The Lutcher Theater invites everyone to kick-start the Christmas season with Lightwire Theater’s black-light performance of A Very Electric Christmas on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m.

People of all ages will be captivated by the dazzling visuals and unique menagerie of characters that magically appear out of the darkness. Each show provides a magical and captivating tale of family, friendship and hope.

The second annual Texas Star Cluster All-Breed Dog Show will be held Friday, Nov. 10, through Sunday, Nov. 12, at Ford Park presented by the Beaumont Kennel Club, the Cypress Creek Kennel Club of Texas Inc. and the Galveston County Kennel Club, Inc. The event hours will be from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. each day, and the show is free to the public and will feature exhibits and grooming stations where spectators can see the dogs participating in the event as well as purchase toys and accessories for their dogs at home.

Many will never forget what devastation Hurricane Harvey brought to Southeast Texas. The scars will forever show, but compassion has definitely softened the blow. Musician and Texas native Cody Johnson want to continue to help the rebuilding efforts by performing at Ford Arena on Friday, Nov. 17, as a part of his Concerts For the Coast series.
