Feast with the Beasts at the Houston Zoo on Nov 3

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will perform at the Houston Zoo’s 12th annual Feast with the Beasts on Friday, Nov. 3. From 7-11 p.m., the evening promises to be an unforgettable night where attendees can eat, drink and jam out to some of the band’s biggest hits all while enjoying the animals at the zoo.

Feast with the Beasts is one of the Houston’s most anticipated events for animal and culinary lovers alike. Guests can sample food and drinks from more than 60 of Houston’s hottest restaurants as well as special animal presentations throughout the zoo.

It’s hard to believe that the holidays are upon us, and with that comes a fast and furious slate of movies jostling for awards to be given out in 2018. I hope the upcoming lineup is better than what’s out there now. Nothing recently has caught fire with audiences and disappointing or even risible movies like “Mother!” are playing to empty theaters.

Perfect weather is predicted for Lamar University’s “We Are LU” Homecoming on Saturday, Nov. 4, with a day full of activities beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m. when the Cardinal football team hosts Central Arkansas at Provost Umphrey Stadium.

“We are especially excited about Lamar University Homecoming this year as we see it as day of free family fun for our community that is still recovering from Hurricane Harvey,” said Homecoming Committee Chairman Courtney Horton.
