Vendors at Art in the Park

Spring has officially arrived, and what better way to celebrate the fantastic weather than the 16th annual Art in the Park hosted by the Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau.

This popular family-friendly event is free and open to the public and is scheduled for Saturday, April 7, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Stark Park, 711 Green Ave., in the heart of downtown Orange.

Luncheon of love … Recently the Alzheimer’s Association hosted the 2018 Family Portrait Luncheon at the MCM Eleganté to a sold-out crowd. Elizabeth Waddill and Ashley Messina co-chaired this uplifting event. When this dynamic duo was asked to lead the charge for this year’s fundraiser, they wanted Mark K. Shriver, president of the Save the Children Action Network and senior vice president of U.S. Programs at Save the Children, as well as respected author of the bestselling memoir A Good Man: Rediscovering My Father, Sargent Shriver. 2018 Le Grand Bal honoree Albert Nolen

It’s a gala evening of art, fine dining, dancing and entertainment at Lamar University’s 42nd annual Le Grand Bal on Saturday, March 24, titled “We ART LU.”

Guests are encouraged to dress in black tie or Asian inspired attire. Activities include an art gallery auction at the Dishman Art Museum, as well as cocktails, appetizers and dinner in the beautifully renovated Setzer Student Center, followed by an after party with entertainment by Doppelganger, one of Houston’s premier party bands.

YMBL South Texas State Fair

One of the largest fairs of its kind and now entering its 75th year, the YMBL South Texas State Fair continues to grow and make memories, whether it’s the delicious fair foods, fun rides or rodeos or the more than 75 vendors — everyone has a good time at the fair.

The YMBL South Texas State Fair will once again take place at Ford Park in Beaumont and begins Thursday, March 22, at 6 p.m. with the 10-day festival of fun ending Sunday, April 1.
