One of the largest and most exciting karaoke competitions in the U.S. will be holding preliminary competitions at MaxBowl’s Pin & Tonic Bar and Grill in Port Arthur starting March 22 and concluding June 7. Weekly sing-off contest will be held each Friday night (except Good Friday) at 9 p.m.
Lamar University’s acclaimed Lamarissimo! Concert Series continues Thursday, March 7, as the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band perform classic symphonic selections by Edvard Greig and Leonard Bernstein, and premieres an original composition in honor of Wayne Dyess, longtime director of jazz studies at Lamar, who died Feb. 27.
The Master’s Men Annual Winter Celebration, which brings the best artists in Southern Gospel to Southeast Texas every February is scheduled for Feb. 23 at Silsbee High School Auditorium, located at 5 p.m., with doors opening at 4 p.m.
This year’s guests include Triumphant Quartet, Jeff and Sheri Easter and 11th hour.
