National country recording artist Lonestar will headline Freedom Fest outside at Ford Pavilion on Sunday, Oct. 30, with gates opening at 2 p.m. Lawn seats are $5, and seating under the pavilion will be $25. Tickets for the event can be purchased online at eventbrite.com or at Ford Park.

The Texas Energy Museum will host its annual Dinosaur Day on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Lamar University Earth Science faculty and students plan to help attendees unearth actual fossils by washing excavated dirt through screens, and analyze fossils through microscopes, as well as exhibit other fossils. Presentations from paleontologists and other hands-on activities, such as cleaning dinosaur bones and practicing field techniques to unearth fossils are also scheduled.
