The 2015 Hope Women’s Resource Clinic annual gala is set to take place Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 3950 Walden Road, in Beaumont. Tickets start at $100. The gala features guest speaker Kevin Sorbo, as well as an auction, entertainment and food. Proceeds benefit Hope Women’s Resource Clinic in Beaumont.

While another mediocre week at the cinema played out, the Toronto Independent Film Festival premiered the upcoming films that will debut in theaters this fall. Perhaps one of the most important film festivals in terms of which movies will get noticed, Toronto is where the big players come together to put together new movies deals and decide which undistributed ones will get a slot in theaters in order to compete for awards at the end of the year.

The Beaumont Craft Beer Fest will take place Saturday, Sept. 19, from 4-8 p.m. at the Event Centre in downtown Beaumont, 700 Crockett St. Presented by the city of Beaumont, Giglio Distributing, and 2-Row Distributing (a new craft-beer-focused division of Del Papa Distributing), the festival will showcase more than 30 craft breweries and over 100 craft beers, both local and national. Tickets are $20 per person for ages 21 and older, and ticket price includes 24 two-ounce samples along with a souvenir cup.
