Thought Halloween lands on a Monday this year – Monday, Oct. 31, to be exact – how about a little pre-Halloween mixer this weekend with you and some of your favorite ghouls, goblins and witches?

Goo:

1/4 cup light corn syrup

Green food coloring

 

Cocktail:

1/2 cup fresh lime juice

1 cup club soda

3/4 cup tequila

3 ounces triple sec

4 cherries

One of President George W. Bush’s daughters will speak in Beaumont this fall.

Jenna Bush Hager will be the main speaker at YWCA’s Gala fundraiser Friday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. at the MCM Eleganté Hotel and Conference Center. She is a contributing correspondent to NBC’s Today Show, an editor-at-large for Southern Living Magazine, founder of The Novo Project and chair for UNICEF’s Next Generation.

Houston Zoo for Zoo Boo, Houston’s largest family-friendly Halloween event, will take place on every Friday-Sunday in the month of October. Friday dates are Oct. 21 and 28 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday-Sunday dates are 22-23, 29-30 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., and then there’s Monday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
