Prior to opening its 2017 season, Lamar University baseball will hold three free youth clinics hosted by first year head coach Will Davis, his staff and select players.

Each clinic will start at 10 a.m., last approximately two hours and will be for eighth graders and younger. Cardinal baseball players and coaches will be on hand following the camp for pictures and autographs.

The world famous Harlem Globetrotters, featuring some of the most electrifying athletes on the planet, return to Ford Arena on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m. during their 91st anniversary world tour.

New this season, for the first time ever, the Globetrotters will debut basketball’s first 4-point line. The 4-point line will be 30 feet from the basket, which is 6-foot, 3 inches beyond the top of the NBA’s current 3-point line.

In commemoration of Black History Month, the Beaumont Art League is asking artists to participate in an exhibit of unity and expression, crossing cultural barriers through art. The concept behind “United We Stand: The Artists Perspective” is to create a powerful community exhibit of artwork by our diverse network of talented artists that celebrates the contributions of African-Americans in art, history, and culture. Participating artist entry fees are $15 for members and $25 for non-members.
