Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum on the Lamar University campus will mark the 115th anniversary of the Lucas Gusher at Spindletop with a day packed with re-enactments, activities, craft demonstrations and entertainment.

Classic Movie Night continues with the 2004 comedy Mean Girls on Friday, Jan. 8, at the historic Jefferson Theatre in downtown Beaumont. Written by Tina Fey, Mean Girls stars Lindsay Lohan as Cady Heron, who attends public school for the first time and joins a clique headed by Regina George (Rachel McAdams). Cady falls for Regina’s ex-boyfriend, and out come the mean games. The film is 97 minutes and rated PG13.

The Legends at the Jefferson Series continues Thursday, Jan. 14, with Liverpool Legends — Beatles Tribute Band. Tickets are $45-$20 and can be purchased at the Civic Center box office or Ticketmaster outlets including ticketmaster.com.
