The 14th annual Mardi Gras Krew of Krewe’s Grande Parade in downtown Orange is going to be bigger and better than ever, and the Greater Orange Chamber of Commerce and Orange Convention & Visitors Bureau invite everyone in Southeast Texas to the family friend event titled “It’s a Party” on Saturday, Feb. 18.

Classic Movie Night continues Friday, Feb. 10, with the 1993 romantic comedy drama Sleepless in Seattle at the historic Jefferson Theatre in downtown Beaumont. Directed by Nora Ephron, the movie stars Tom Hanks as “Sam Baldwin” who loses his wife to cancer. His son calls in to a radio talk show to tell the story, and one of the listeners, Annie (played by Meg Ryan), wants to meet him. The film grossed over $220 million at the box office.

The Southeast Texas Arts Council will honor supporters at its annual Hearts for the Arts recognition ceremony held Sunday, Feb. 12, at the Beau Reve (4400 Atlantic Road) in Port Neches from 5-8 p.m. Following the recognition ceremony will be a Valentine’s reception, which includes d’oeuvres, wine, desserts and coffee.

The Orange Community Players presents The Red Velvet Cake War from Feb. 2-4 and from Feb. 9-11 at 7:30 p.m., with a special matinee on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 2:30 p.m. Written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, in this riotously funny southern-fried comedy, the three Verdeen cousins — Gaynelle, Peaches, and Jimmie Wyvette — could not have picked a worse time to throw their family reunion.
