The Houston International Boat, Sport & Travel Super Show is set for NRG Center in Houston from Jan. 6-15. It’s largest indoor show for outdoor sports in America featuring over 1,000 boats and RVs, plus hundred of fishing, sport, travel, outdoor gear and even art exhibits.

Show hours are Jan. 6 (1-8 p.m.), Jan. 7-10 (11 a.m. – 8 p.m.), Jan. 11-12 (1-8 p.m.), Jan. 13 (1-9 p.m.), Jan. 14 (11 a.m. – 9 p.m.) and Jan. 15 (11 a.m. – 5 p.m.).

Pro wrestling fans are in a frenzy as two events will be held in the area beginning with Hurricane Pro Wrestling returning to the Beaumont Civic Center on Saturday, Jan. 7 with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 or a family four-pack for $30 and can be purchased online at hurricanepro.info or at the door.

Jan. 10, 1901, the Lucas Gusher blew in on a hill just south of Beaumont. The public is invited to celebrate the 116th anniversary Saturday, Jan. 7, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Spindletop Gladys City Boomtown at 5550 Jimmy Simmons Blvd. near Lamar University.

The Mardi Gras season makes its flamboyant entrance with the Twelfth Night Parade Extravaganza inside the Lake Charles Civic Center Coliseum on Friday, Jan. 6, with doors opening at 6 p.m.
