Follow a young girl and her fairy godmother into an equine dreamland and experience the majesty, splendor and amazement of the Gala of the Royal Horses on Friday, Aug. 11, at 7:30 p.m. at Ford Arena.

Brought to you by world-renowned riding master Rene Gasser, the stunning world of “Gala of the Royal Horses: Carousel of Dreams” immerses audiences in spectacular, tantalizing live performances from the most beautiful horses in the world as a young girl explores the magic of her dreams and works to find her purpose in life.

Canoers and kayakers will abound during the second annual Village Creek Classic Canoe and Kayak Race on Saturday, Aug. 5, beginning at 8 a.m. The Silsbee Chamber of Commerce will host this fundraising event, which begins at Highway 327 and ends at Baby Galvez. There will be free parking at First Baptist Church (350 Highway 96 S.) and shuttle service for participants, boats and spectators. The rental and non-rental entry fee is $40 per person or $75 for parent/child duo in four race categories: Adventure Seeker, Passionate Paddler, Elite Sponsor and Creek Clean-Up.

Music fans can relive “Beatlemania” on Saturday, Aug. 5, as the Liverpool Legends Beatles Tribute returns to Beaumont to play the Jefferson Theatre at 7 p.m.

The four talented musicians and actors were handpicked by Louise Harrison, sister of the late George Harrison of The Beatles. Louise’s involvement with Liverpool Legends makes them the only band in the world with a close, direct biological link to the original Fab Four!

The city of Beaumont will host a “Dive-In” movie night at Alice Keith Pool on Saturday, Aug. 5, with the showing of the 2016 animation comedy Sing at dusk. Featuring the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson and John C. Reilly, Sing tells the story of a city of humanoid animals, where a hustling theater impresario’s attempt to save his theater with a singing competition becomes grander than he anticipates even as its finalists’ find that their lives will never be the same.
