Q. In January, a business agreed to install a new “Ford remanufactured engine” in my truck. On the receipt, it came with a 100,000 miles and three-year warranty. Before 1,000 miles, the truck started making a knocking noise. The business told me it was the transmission. I brought the truck to a local Ford dealer. The dealership performed a complete diagnostics and said the knocking was coming from the engine.

The City of Beaumont’s Recreation Division will host “Movies in the Park” on Saturday, June 24, at the Athletic Complex at 950 Langham Road. The event is free to the public and will begin at dusk. The feature film that will be shown is the 2016 3D computer animated comedy The Angry Birds Movie, voiced by the likes of Jason Sudekis, Danny McBride, Josh Gad, Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Sean Penn and Bill Hader, among others.

Men, a shot that prevents cancers — the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination — is for you, too, though not nearly enough males are getting it. Sadly, physicians say, vaccination rates in males are extremely low, and doctors are seeing more cancers in men caused by HPV.

Considered one of the greatest films of all time, 2001: A Space Odyssey will be shown at Classic Movie Night on Friday, June 23, at the historic Jefferson Theatre in downtown Beaumont. Directed by the brilliant Stanley Kubrick, the film was released in 1968 and stars Keir Dullea and Gary Lockwood. The story follows a voyage to Jupiter with the intelligent computer H.A.L. 9000 and deals with human evolution, artificial intelligence, existentialism, and alien life.
