Layla

You would just love Layla. Her foster mom says she is lovely, and we agree. Layla is a 1-year old, 53-pound golden retriever/hound mix. Layla came to the shelter due to the death of her owner. She has a medium-short length, red-colored coat. She has the appearance of a hound, especially with her long ears and pining eyes. She is super sweet with a hound’s laid-back nature.

Q. My son was hired as a mechanic’s assistant at $14 an hour. He told the supervisor that he had some experience, but he was willing to learn as he went along with the job. The supervisor was fine with this, and my son was given other duties as well. My son was very happy, always on time to work, apparently no problems. Last week he was called to the office and told they had hired a previous ex-employee to come back as the assistant. My son was given the option to go work in another job, but his pay would be reduced to $10 an hour. Is this legal?

Consider this column a Public Service Announcement. I have been in the newspaper world for many years now and have written my fair share of articles about fraud, theft, criminal activity, and those who live to take from those who work hard to pay their just and honest debts. In the past few years, I have interviewed bankers, loan officers, members of law enforcement, and individuals affected by crime, and have learned a lot.

My favorite tomato is a big, juicy, red, fresh-off-the-vine homegrown one. Next I’d have to say “yummy” to those sweet little cherry tomatoes, and who doesn’t’ love a delicious fried green tomato? The truth is, I’ve never met a homegrown tomato that I didn’t like.

My first (and probably only) romantic story involving a tomato was when my mother would reminisce about her honeymoon at Niagara Falls where they spread out a quilt and enjoyed tomato sandwiches while taking in the view.

Sophisticated looks and expressive materials make up the 2016 Chrysler 300, which is available in four models: 300 Limited, 300S, 300C and 300C Platinum.

At the front, a sculptured surface fascia proudly accommodates Chrysler 300’s prominent grille with unique dimensional texture and chrome grille surround. The grille contains the Chrysler wing badge, which highlights the new “face of Chrysler.” Nestled below the upper grille is an elegantly drawn chrome band that outlines the lower grille opening and extends outward.
