There are a number of super things happening for local outdoors folks that we look forward to all year long. There are ducks, geese, deer and the fall run of flounder. Add to those activities the schooling speckled trout in Lake Sabine, Big Lake in Louisiana and East Bay, and there is plenty of action to keep us all busy.

If you spend enough time in a boat, you’re going to have battery problems. The solution? Keep them charged, and don’t try to get by without replacing them every two to three years.

I hate boat batteries. They’re ruthless. But like a romance, if nurtured they won’t turn against you — most of the time.

From its chiseled front grille to its standard rear spoiler, the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro is an iconic sports car. Not one to blend into the crowd, the Camaro is easily recognizable with its long, athletic hood. Looking to personalize your Camaro even more? A variety of stripe packages are also available (ours came with broad black stripes running from hood to trunk).

“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” Jesus reaffirmed this Old Testament truth by repeating it, living it and gaining victory over the devil with God’s Word. Today we will hear Him speaking words in parables. I am reading from Luke 16:19-31.

An article caught my attention recently, and I found it to be interesting reading. The writing centered on the word “ego” and what it basically means in our lives. I have often heard a person say, “That guy has such an ego.” Or perhaps, “That woman thrives on her own ego.” But what do they mean?
One writer describes ego as the “I complex.” In other words, life is all about the one person, and they thinks they’re more perfect than their counterparts. Generally, it is difficult to be around someone with a big ego even if they haven’t accomplished a lot to brag about in their life.
