Well, it could be called “Heaven on Earth” if you like colorful strutting peacocks, huge brugmansias, towering orange trees and large streams cascading into ancient ponds. The Alcazar in Seville, Spain, was built in the 1300s during Europe’s Dark Ages and has managed to thrive. UNESCO made this one-time Moorish palace a World Heritage Site in 1987.

Q. Three years ago, a credit card company filed a lawsuit against me. I answered the lawsuit. I heard nothing for almost two years, until I received a notice of hearing on a motion for summary judgment. Isn’t there a four-year statute of limitations for lawsuits? Shouldn’t this case now be dismissed?

Crystalette is such a beauty! Her white coat shines like a diamond. She is the kind of dog that has to been queen of the castle. This little girl likes to run to keep her trim figure, so she will require a fully fenced yard and would do best in a home with no young children. With a Queen B attitude, she will be the dominate dog of the household. But that does not mean she doesn’t like play; she loves her two temporary brothers that reside in the same foster home.

Q. I was renting a house with two of my friends. The house burned down because of the electrical fault. We still have six months more to go on lease. We did not have a renter’s insurance. The fire was not our fault. We lost most of our property. We assume the owner has insurance. Can we file to recover for our damages? Can we get compensation toward rent?

I do enjoy the winter break from heat and weeds and daily responsibility outside in the yard but really welcome some “inspiration” during these colder months. And what a more perfect place to go for inspiration than the great gardens of the world. Versailles is such a garden. In these stately French green spaces with their topiaries and fountains and lakes, you can just imagine yourself in formalwear with nothing to do but stroll the paths and eat bon-bons.
