Frank Davis & The Touching Hearts Band invites the public to an evening of fellowship, classic country music, dancing and lots of fun Saturday, March 22, beginning at 7 p.m. at 2499 Clearlake Road in Kountze. The party offers everyone a chance to show support for the new band with a minimum donation of $20 to go toward sound equipment and advertising. Bring a lawn chair and beverages to wash down homemade pizza.

A perfect Valentine’s Day gift would be tickets to see one of the hottest theatrical show on the planet — Blue Man Group. Lamar University will be hosting a “#zeroLRA” film screening open to the public in the Lamar University Science Auditorium at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22. The McNair Scholars Program, the Center for Academic Success and the Multicultural Student Advisory Council are co-sponsoring the free event that will feature volunteers from Invisible Children, a media-based nonprofit organization.
