Crawfish and Shrimp Platter with Rajun Cajun Sauce

“Welcome to Crustaceans Boil House. What can we get for ya?” These words are what you hear as you enter the building of an unassuming Chevron Gas Station. The reason is that the gas station shares its space with a restaurant that’s is changing how seafood is served.

Aldrick Henry aimed to open a restaurant that was a little different from anything around Beaumont — a pick your crustacean and sauce concept — and he did just that.

Memorials, objects that serve to remind of a person or event, have been erected for various people, occasions and organizations from the Haymarket Martyr Memorial to the National September 11th Memorial & Museum. Memorials serve a much-needed function for citizens to remember and, therefore, live with a greater passion. The Big Thicket is now host to one of these remembrances thanks to Joshua Davis, West Brook freshman.

The Banzai Special

Aristotle once said, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” No establishment proves this more than Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar.

The Japanese eatery in Beaumont, which first opened its doors on Dowlen Road in 1996, has proved in its more than 20 years of business that excellence takes time and commitment. Tokyo’s offering of delicious food and unique experiences to Southeast Texas has been a staple to the area, and for good reason.

The Aroma app team

The craving hits and the pang of hunger deepens. You want enchiladas with onions, avocado and a cup of coffee, but are tired of the same old haunts. Thankfully, there is an app for that. Or there will be.

Aroma, set to be released May 19, helps users search for food on an open playing field. Users can search for restaurants by dish and can even add multiple filters to find the place that is just right.
