Unlike a nice wine that can only grow more lush over time, a movie that sits on the shelf for a few years cannot boast the same. This dud from SNL producer Lorne Michaels has inexplicably lingered in distribution limbo for years after missing several release dates. Time has not been kind to this comedy, based on a real armored car company theft in 1997 that happened in Charlotte, North Carolina.


Add “bounty hunter” — or, as he seems to prefer, “warrant officer” — to the long list of characters that Denzel Washington can call his own. This one’s name is Chisolm, and he is the centerpiece to this remake of a remake with a tale as old as time.

This plot sounds like a lot of other Nazi war movies, but the forgotten footnote in history this movie is based on happens to be true. It’s surprising these events are not more well documented, but probably only World War II buffs will remember the assassination of “The Butcher of Prague.”
