Monster bass on the feed

A Valentine’s Day surprise came a little early for Falcon Lake angler Isaac Denson. Feb. 7, he was fishing in about 3 feet of water when he got the bite of a lifetime, one that turned out to be the heaviest bass he’s ever caught – she weighed 13.4 pounds and measured 26.5 inches in length.

Crab trap removal volunteers needed on Sabine Lake, East Galveston Bay

I’ve had a love/hate relationship with crab traps for years. I love to use them to catch big blue crabs and the occasional stone crab on Sabine Lake and Keith Lake. Conversely, I hate to have to get out of the boat and untangle a mangled derelict crab trap that’s been wound up on the prop of my outboard.
