75 years and counting

YMBL South Texas State Fair

One of the largest fairs of its kind and now entering its 75th year, the YMBL South Texas State Fair continues to grow and make memories, whether it’s the delicious fair foods, fun rides or rodeos or the more than 75 vendors — everyone has a good time at the fair.

The YMBL South Texas State Fair will once again take place at Ford Park in Beaumont and begins Thursday, March 22, at 6 p.m. with the 10-day festival of fun ending Sunday, April 1.

When you speak of the fair, the first thing that comes to many minds is the food: funnel cakes, turkey legs, alligator on a stick, pork kabobs, donut burgers, candy apples, popcorn and a plethora of fried snacks. Fried Oreos, Twinkies, Ding Dongs, cheesecake and cookie dough: If it can be fried, you will find it at the fair.

Live music has always been a staple with the fair, and the folks at the YMBL have again partnered with Outlaw Nation Red Dirt Revival to bring in some of the best of regional entertainment.
