Go Red For Women Luncheon set for May 3

The 2016 Golden Triangle Go Red For Women Luncheon will take place on Tuesday, May 3, at 11 a.m. at the Beaumont Country Club (5355 Pine St). Individual tickets are $75 and can be purchased online at goldentrianglegored.heart.org. 

Go Red for Women is the American Heart Association’s nationwide movement that celebrates the energy, passion and power to band together and wipe out the No. 1 killer of women — heart disease.

Get informed about the risks of heart disease and stroke. Know the red flags. Know your heart health story. This year’s luncheon celebrates honorees Karen Wortham, Britteny Teakell and Lindsay Wortham. 

The guest speaker will be Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Janine Turner, who is known for her roles as Maggie O’Connell in “Northern Exposure,” Dr. Dana Stowe in “Strong Medicine,” and also had roles in “Cliffhanger,” “Friday Night Lights,” “Steel Magnolias” and played June Cleaver in the 1997 film “Leave It to Beaver.”
