L'Auberge chefs use 160 lbs. of gingerbread in elaborate project

Elaborate gingerbread project at L'Auberge

L’Auberge Casino Resort in Lake Charles celebrates the holiday season with an elaborate gingerbread house designed by its award winning pastry team. Pastry Chef Bill Foltz and his team of elves designed and constructed the sugary sculpture after months of planning and sevens days of preparation and assembly. It is now on display at the casino entrance in front of Ember Grille & Wine Bar.

Bring your cameras and see the festive display, which is a perfect backdrop for family holiday greeting cards; a bench for seating is part of the gingerbread house display and you’ll be joined by festive elves.

The gingerbread house was constructed using 160 pounds of gingerbread, 120 pounds of royal icing and 20 pounds of poured sugar made to look like windows, a ton of creativity and a pinch of glitter. The dessert creation is 11 feet high and 10 feet wide and features Santa’s Jolly Juice Factory.

For added fun, capture the memory using our iSnap photo machine and post an e-holiday card directly to your social media accounts or e-mail the photo to family and friends.

Grown up children can enjoy some Jolly Juice at the bar in Ember Grille & Wine Bar for $12; this hand crafted holiday cocktail is sure to put you in a festive mood.
