2015 Grand Cherokee SRT features increased horsepower

For 2015, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT adds a new Red Vapor special edition package, along with new horsepower and torque numbers.

With a starting MSRP of $64,895, the Grand Cherokee SRT is powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 with 475 horsepower and 470 foot-pounds of torque that is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Stylish SRT

The Grand Cherokee SRT sports its signature, seven-slot upper grille with black screen insert, unique SRT badging, body-color rear spoiler, and black chrome exhaust tips. Additionally, five-spoke 20-inch wheels with polished finish ride are standard while split five-spoke, 20-inch forged aluminum wheels in Satin Carbon or SRT-exclusive Black Vapor Chrome finishes are available.

Several exterior colors are available for the 2015 Grand Cherokee SRT, including hues such as Deep Cherry Red Pearl Coat, Granite Crystal Pearl Coat, Bright White Clear Coat and Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat.

Inside the Grand Cherokee SRT, carbon fiber trim accents sweep across the driver’s door, instrument panel and front passenger door. With seating for five, seat dimensions are 38.6-inches for rear legroom, 58-inches for rear shoulder room and 56.2-inches for rear hip room. Cargo volume is listed as 35.1 cubic feet behind the rear seat or 68.7 cubic feet with rear seats folded.

Amenities include automatic dual zone temperature control, leather door trim panels, and an available premium SRT performance audio surround-sound system from Harman Kardon. Additionally, the 2015 Grand Cherokee SRT Laguna leather interior is available in two distinctive colors: Black and Sepia.

Special Edition Package

As mentioned earlier, the Red Vapor special edition package is available on three body colors and features unique exterior and interior styling cues.

On the exterior, standard five-spoke 20-inch wheels are finished in Black Chrome with bright chrome center caps, while additional gloss black appointments include the SRT liftgate badge, Jeep hood badge, Grand Cherokee door badge and upper grille inserts.

Inside, light black chrome replaces the standard bright chrome and red accents are used throughout the cabin.

The 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT is built at the 3-million-square-foot Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit, which has been the site of Grand Cherokee production since its introduction in 1992.
