Acura’s elegant TLX enters its second year

On the heels of its successful first year, the Acura TLX enters 2016 with great momentum. The starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the TLX is $31,695. Additionally, the MSRPs for all five TLX models with the 9-speed automatic transmission are unchanged from mid-model year 2015.

TLX models carry a long list of standard luxury comfort and convenience features. TLX models with the 2.4-liter engine can be upgraded to the Technology package, and models with the 3.5-liter engine are available with the Technology or the top-of-the-line Advance package.

Exterior

From the outside, the TLX’s exterior design features taut body surfaces, sculpted fender arches, and purposeful character lines. Seven exterior colors are available, including hues such as Bellanova White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Black Copper Pearl (new for 2016) and Slate Silver Metallic (also new for 2016).

Interior

Inside, the TLX’s five-passenger interior is designed to provide a high degree of refinement, luxury, comfort and sophistication. High-end premium elements include soft touch materials, alloy and wood-grain design accents, and available Milano leather seat trim. Four interior colors are available: Ebony, Graystone, Espresso and Parchment.

Rear legroom is 34.5 inches, rear shoulder room is 55.4-inches and rear hip room is 54.9-inches.

The TLX offers an abundance of available luxury features and technologies, including Smart Entry/Push Button Start keyless access system, dual-zone automatic climate control and much more.

In keeping with Acura’s commitment to delivering an impressive audio experience, the TLX in Technology and Advance trims come equipped with a 10-speaker Acura/ELS Studio Premium Audio System, engineered specifically for the TLX by recording engineer Elliot Scheiner.

Under the Hood

The Acura TLX is available with two engines: a 2.4L or 3.5-liter engine. The 2.4L engine produces 206 horsepower and 182 foot-pounds of torque. Fuel economy averages for this engine are 24 mpg in the city, 35 mpg on the highway and 28 mpg combined. The 3.5L engine produces 290 horsepower and 267 foot-pounds of torque. Fuel economy averages for the 3.5L engine are 21 mpg in the city, 24 mpg on the highway and 25 mpg combined.
