Ford’s Super Duty not one but many different trucks
For 2015, Ford’s Super Duty lineup is impressive and extensive. For starters, MSRPs range from $31,045 to $68,790. Consumers have 15 models to choose from including F-250, F-350 and F-450 in Regular, Super Cab and Crew Cab editions, as well as five trims: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum.
Additionally, this full-size pick up offers a 6.2L 2 Valve Flex Fuel V8 gasoline engine in addition to Ford’s second-generation 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel, which now boasts 440 horsepower, up from 400 horsepower, and 860 foot-pounds of torque, up from 800, across all Super Duty models from F-250 to F-450.
Here, we focus on the particular Super Duty that pulled into our driveway this week: the 2015 F-250 XLT Crew Cab with its handsome Ruby Red Metallic sheet metal.
2015 F-250 XLT
With a starting MSRP of $34,765, F-250 XLT may be customized with many features, accessories and packages.
The standard engine for the F-250 XLT is the aforementioned 6.2L V8 gasoline engine, which offers best-in-class 385 horsepower and 405 foot-pounds of torque, and is paired with Ford’s 6-speed TorqShift SelectShift automatic transmission.
Available with a 6.75 foot or 8-foot box, the 2015 Ford F-250 XLT has a rugged, good-looking appearance with a choice of eight exterior colors, including hues such as Tuxedo Black, Green Gem, Blue Jeans and Oxford White. Walk around the F-250 XLT and you’ll notice features like black door handles, a chrome bar-style grille, and standard 18-inch cast aluminum (SRW) wheels. Exterior options include a factory-installed ToughBed spray-in bedliner, a wheel well liner, splash guards, drop-in bedliner, a bed mat, 17-inch 6-spoke cast aluminum wheels and much, much more.
Inside, the F-250 XLT offers two interior colors: steel and adobe. Standard XLT features include manual air conditioning temperature control, AM/FM stereo with digital clock, single CD and four speakers, a 6-month subscription to SiriusXM Radio, cloth front 40/20/40 split bench seat, cloth rear 60/40 bench seat (Super Cab) and much more.
Additionally, interior accommodations are roomy and comfortable. Rear legroom is listed at 42.1 inches, rear hip room is 67.6 inches and rear shoulder room is 68.0 inches.
