Get rich quick at AMSET’s thrilling fundraiser

Golden eye … The Art Museum of Southeast Texas invites everyone to Go for the Gold on Thursday, March 10, for a chance to win $10,000 in gold or other fantastic prizes at its annual reverse drawing. Join them in the “Goldfinger” theme this year, as they encourage guests to channel their inner spy and dress in James Bond inspired garb (that seems to mean black to this columnist). During this always-engaging fundraising event, one lucky ticket holder will watch their $100 entry turn into $10,000 in gold in just one night. Guests are invited to enjoy this highly entertaining evening while dining on a delicious Mexican fare buffet donated by Two Magnolias Catering. For the ticket cost of $100, guests receive admission, dinner and cocktails for two along with one entry into the most exciting drawing in town. Only 450 tickets will be sold for the event, and advance purchase is recommended. Sandy and Joseph Fertitta have graciously agreed to chair this year’s thrilling, suspenseful event. Players have a great opportunity to win all while supporting AMSET’s exhibition and education programs. For ticket info, call (409) 832-3432. See you there!

Farm to table fete … All Saint’s Episcopal School annual Fete fundraiser was a smashing success with a Farm to Table theme. Chair Stephanie Daleo and co-chair Alison Low, as well as ASPA President Brandey Gideon orchestrated a packed house at the Event Centre this past Friday evening, Feb. 19, with parents, grandparents and guests of All Saint’s School students attending. Long farm-type tables were set up by atmosphere chairs Tracey Gilliam and Camille Ohmstede, with Hannah Persia, Susannah and Kevin Cronin, as well as Kayla and Scott Fisher, coordinating the fresh fare for all of the attendees. A huge focus of this year’s fundraiser was art (chaired by Jamie Barclay) and the Wine Pull (Nancy McGrade oversaw this clever idea) and the beautiful quilt (Amber Barrington was the chair), with students and special guests artists Ines Alvidrez and Lana Portner having their art auctioned to the highest bidder. In the mix were Chris Ohmstede, Steve McGrade, Mark Low, Elizabeth and Russ Waddill, Kathy Fisher, Scootie and Joe Clark, Skye and J.P. Bray, Stacey and Casey Crenshaw, Heather and Mark Petkovsek, JP and Skye Bray, Emily and Chris Miller, Casey and Clark Winslow, Scarlett and Wyatt Snider, May and Jeremy Bruser, Allison and Mike Gilbert, Kelly and Gaile Henry, Brandi and Warren Claybar, Nikki and Mike Albanese, Candice and Brent Walters, and too many more to mention.
