Nissan’s midsize crossover, the 2016 Murano

The Nissan Murano received its third-generation redesign for the last model year. And for 2016, Murano remains virtually unchanged as it continues its success of offering a unique exterior and interior styling design.

Like the original Murano, the latest version is a highly sculptural, aesthetic design — one that stands out.

Premium way to travel

Inside, Murano’s upscale interior creates an inviting and comfortable atmosphere. Interior features include standard Dual-Zone Automatic Temperature Control and Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition, along with many available options such as leather-appointed seating and an available Bose audio system with 11 speakers. Additionally, available interior colors include Cashmere, Graphite and Mocha.

Murano’s cargo volume is listed at 32.1 cubic feet with the second row upright, or 67 cubic feet with the second row folded flat. Additionally, rear legroom is 38.7-inches, rear hip room is 55.2-inches and rear shoulder room is 58.8-inches.

The 2016 Murano is available in eight exterior colors including hues such as Brilliant Silver, Cayenne Red and premium Pearl White.

Standard 3.5-liter V6

The 2016 Murano is available with a standard 3.5-liter DOHC V6 rated at 260 horsepower and 240 foot-pounds of torque. Also standard is an Xtronic transmission.

Fuel economy has increased by approximately 20 percent (versus the previous generation Murano) and the Murano features a 0.31 coefficient of drag. Average fuel ratings are 21 mpg in the city, 28 mpg on the highway and 24 mpg combined.

A range of models

With a starting MSRP of $29,560, the 2016 Nissan Murano is offered in four grade levels: S, SV, SL and Platinum. Each is available in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The 2016 Murano is assembled in Nissan’s plant on Canton, Mississippi, very diverse facility by number of models in Nissan’s North American network. The Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant is the global source for Murano production, creating export opportunities to more than 100 markets. Murano is assembled on the same line as Xterra, Frontier, Titan and Armada.
