Fashion forward

Our town’s ladies that love to “shop ‘til they drop” were thrilled about Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas Foundation’s Couture for a Cause recent fundraiser at the MCM Eleganté. Fashionista Charlotte Levine and her debonair hubby, Msonthi Levine, were the perfect choice to chair this event. Some of the beautiful boutiques catching the eye of many shoppers were Bella Bella, Zandy Zoo’s, Bungalow Boutique, Flagship Mailroom, YaYa, and Gingham and Pearls, to name a few. Shopping and playing conversation catch-up before the fashion bingo started were Tara Audilet, Kelly Jackson, Faiza Anwar, Laine Morrison, Lindsay Wortham, Amanda Johnson, Amy Chance, Taryn Bienvenu, Kristin Peyton, Meredith Hise, Karen Stewart, Kate Carroll, Christina Crawford, Lynda Moncla, Pam French, Maureen Winchell, Stephanie Allen, Janice Grossheim, Nancy White, Kim Moncla, Kristin Wheeler, Caroline Heinz, Jennifer Phelan, Jo Bienvenu, Carol Hearn, Gerry Edwards, Sarah Wells, Jamie Bailey, Kortnie Tomas, Chelsey Osborn, Halea Stephens, Ashley Bryan, Allison Gilbert, Rinal Doshi, Olivia Kay, Lisa Coon, Melissa Cornwell, Angela Dodson, Michelle Adams, Sheigh Rhodes, Lené McCoy, Stacey Crenshaw, Kathryn Grace Meadows and too many more to mention. This event is a wonderful way to kick off the Foundation ‘s A Roaring La Soiree taking place Jan. 27 at the Beaumont Civic Center.

Bar and barbecue shower

It was a gentlemen-only party for soon to be married Matt Winney, who will say I do to Mary Haas this Friday, Nov. 17. Hosted by Gerald Farha, Sam Parigi, John Hawa and pit master extraordinaire Brad Klein, all present raised their glasses to the honoree and enjoyed the mouthwatering barbecue, including Chris Bean, Will Jenkins, Michael Sparks, Stephen Bender, Trey Hildalgo, Jeff McHenry, Robert Winney, Ryan Johnson, Travis Ewest, Rocky Chase, Greg Austin, Jonathan Austin and Doug Fierce.

For the children

The 27th annual Pour Les Enfants gala will take place this evening, Nov. 16, on the grounds of the Garth House, with Jessica Garth at the helm. This energetic and giving girl is planning phenomenal silent and live auctions, which raise a tremendous amount of money for such a crusading cause. Cocktails and silent auction begins at 6 p.m., with dinner and a lively auction to follow. See you there!

News of I do’s

Fresh off a whirlwind ride of Astros World Series madness and the incredible win, engaged couple Andrea Andrus and Giles Kibbe (in-house counsel for Astros owner Jim Crane) were feted at Potente restaurant in Houston last Sunday evening, Nov. 12. Host for this over-the-top celebration (how often do guests get to enjoy pasta with truffles?) were Tanya and Brian White, Adrienne Sayward and Jared Crane, and of course, Whitney and Jim Crane. The bride’s mother, Sandy Andrus (who could be her sister), flew in from Florida for this glorious gathering, and the groom’s parents, Paula and Paul Shaw, came in from Austin. Also there were sister Kara Wied, with her precious daughters Rebecca Wied (with fellow Baylor University sig other Coleman Nickum), Anna Katherine Wied, and Caroline Wied with John Darling. Making the trek from the BMT were Diane and Don Shaver, Kristin and Chris Davis, Gerald Farha, Gail White and Joe Poole. Also in the mix were relatives of the groom-to-be Brenda and Gerard Cascio, Toni Provost and Margo Pluta, Libby and Justin Kibbe, and Diana and Richard Shaw. The couple is planning a picturesque wedding at the Floridian Golf Club outside of Palm Beach, Florida.
