Subaru Introduces the new XV Crosstrek
Joining Subaru’s lineup of crossover-utility vehicles is the new 2013 XV Crosstrek. Versatile and fun-to-drive, the XV Crosstrek debuts with a bold five-door design and impressive fuel economy ratings: 33 mpg on the highway and 25 mpg in the city (28 mpg combined).
Subaru offers two versions of the XV Crosstrek, the Premium with a high level of standard features, and the Limited model with additional luxury and technology — all 2013 XV Crosstrek models are powered by a 148-horsepower 2.0-liter engine.
The Subaru XV Crosstrek is a good-looking crossover with its black side- and wheel-arch cladding, rocker spoiler and roof rails and unique-design 17-inch wheels. Front and rear bumpers and the front grille are also unique to the Subaru XV Crosstrek.
2.0-liter DOHC Boxer Engine
The Subaru 2.0-liter Boxer engine produces 148 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 145 pound-feet of peak torque at 4,200 rpm.
A 103.7-inch wheelbase yields interior roominess in the 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek. Rear seat legroom of 35.4 inches is close to that of some midsize cars. With the standard 60/40 split rear seatbacks folded, this versatile five-door crossover provides a flat load floor with up to 51.9 cubic feet of carrying space.
The standard cargo area is outfitted with a cover that can be pulled into place or removed, along with a removable waterproof cargo tray, tie-down hooks and grocery bag hooks.
Comfort and convenience
Inside, rich-looking appointments and details abound, including soft-touch materials for the dashboard, door trim and center console armrest.
Large door pockets and numerous compartments are located in and around the center console.
Two trim lines
As mentioned above, Subaru offers the 2013 XV Crosstrek in Premium and Limited models, the latter adding additional luxury amenities and technology. Among the standard features in the Premium are power windows, door locks and side mirrors; multi-function display with fuel economy information; outside temperature gauge, carpeted floor mats and more.
The standard audio system in the XV Crosstrek Premium model includes features such as Bluetooth, Radio Data Broadcast System (RDBS), USB port and six speakers.
The 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek Limited adds leather-trimmed upholstery, steering wheel and shift handle; automatic climate control system; auto on/off headlights; a rear seat armrest with dual cup holders and more.
