Q. My dog was injured while in the care of my groomer. It cost me over $700 in vet bills. The groomer refuses to take any responsibility for what happened and refuses to reimburse me for my expenses. What can I do? He won’t even give me the name of his insurance company.

Q. About two years ago, my wife and I ran into financial difficulty and made the choice to attempt to settle our credit card debt. Most creditors settled with us, but one credit card company wouldn’t settle, so we quit paying altogether. If we are sued and have a judgment against us for this debt, can our wages be garnished? I guess essentially we want to know what can happen for non-payment of credit card debt. Thank you.

It is no big secret to those who know me well that my biological mother and I did not get along. There were many reasons, and looking back on them now that I am older and have grown children of my own, I see more of the complications that caused the often very turbulent waters. Some changes and a lot of understanding could have been made easier for all of us had I known then what I know now. Such is life.

Q. I have been married for three years. I’m now getting a divorce. There is no property or custody to fight over, but I would like the wedding ring I gave my wife. It belonged to my grandmother and is very special to me. Do I need to get a lawyer to have her turn over the ring?

Life sometimes hits us with surprise after surprise. This seems especially true the older we become. I go to way too many funerals these days, and seldom a week goes by that I don’t get a call letting me know of the death of a friend or a relative. I said to someone at the funeral home last night, “We really have to quit meeting like this.” My friend laughed as we remembered the last occasion where we visited together.

Greetings, everyone! My name is House. I’m a lovely lady who is 2 years young, and I weigh 10 pounds. I’m affectionate with my human friends and sure do love to be petted. I love to watch the world go by, but I would prefer to do so in my new home. I came in with my sister but she already got adopted, so now I’m just waiting here all alone. I can be an inside/outside cat or strictly inside cat — I don’t mind either way. I’m already spayed and I’ve got all of my vaccinations. If you are interested in me, please contact BAS and ask for No. 27573.

One thing that I have learned and learned well in these seven decades of living is that change always comes and most often when we least expect it, affecting our loved ones or us. We best learn early on to roll with the punches and take life as it comes.
