Dr. Stedman Graham addressed Beaumont ISD students and faculty in a series of lectures about realizing potential and defining identity, the latter a subject on which he has taught and written books. Graham handed out his best-selling book “Teens Can Make It Happen: Nine Steps to Success” to Smith Middle School students and “Identity Passport to Freedom” to all attendees at the lectures.

Many attribute the second quote to Henry David Thoreau, saying it is taken from “Civil Disobedience and Other Essays.” Several scholars say, however, that it is an adaptation from Thoreau’s work, not from “Civil Disobedience,” but that the writing is taken loosely from his work, “Walden.”

However we personally feel about it, Facebook has become enormously popular. But one issue facing Facebook, as well as many other social networking and online services, is the privacy and security of its users. Sadly, the small percentage of the global population that wants to commit a variety of cybercrimes has found that social networking services are a fertile hunting ground, and Facebook is no exception.

The ongoing litigation in the Beaumont Independent School District trustee race is not about a racial divide, and it’s not black or white — it’s quite simply a legal strategy to maintain the status quo and maintain the trustees in their current seats.
