The breakfast burrito for the extra hungry hombre (Women love it, too!) is a large tortilla filled with eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes and cheese.
But nothing beats the super southern signature breakfast dish, the chicken and waffles – buttermilk waffles flanked by golden fried chicken! If you need your comfort early, this is the dish to get. Soak waffles in sweet maple syrup and let it drizzle across the chicken, too. Slop up the remaining syrup with your last bites of crispy chicken. This is the way real southerners start their days!
Continue the culinary comforting all day. Lunch starts at 10:30 a.m. and is served until 2 p.m. Casual Entrees has appetizers, salads and soups, burgers and sandwiches and lunch specials. Start your midday meal with boudain balls, hand battered and served with ranch dressing, or savor the spinach dip covered with tomatoes and served with fried tortilla chips.
Lighter fare includes a large selection of salads like the chicken or shrimp salad, Caesar or chef salad. Recently added to the menu is the Asian chicken salad, a fresh spring mix topped with grilled chicken, mandarin oranges, slivered almonds and served with Thai dressing.
Comfortable seating accommodates 100 patrons in this quiet dining venue ideal for a warm winter meal. Crispy chicken fried steak or fried chicken, grilled or fried catfish or shrimp or a pork chop are offered daily and served with one of your favorite homemade sides of the South – onion rings, mashed potatoes, green beans, carrots, corn, okra and tomatoes, fried okra, turnip greens, sweet potato fries, lima beans and more.
Warm sandwiches can be ordered individually or in a combo with a dinner salad or a cup of soup for only $6.99. Choose a turkey or the BLT, a classic bacon, lettuce and tomato. All sandwiches including the turkey and Angus beef burgers as well as the Philly cheesesteak and hot roast beef are served with french fries.
If platters are more pleasing, Casual Entrees will satisfy. All of their platters from the catfish to grilled salmon are served with a choice of two sides and a fresh hot roll. Entrees selections are extensive, ranging from a jumbo shrimp dinner to the smothered chicken topped with honey mustard, bacon, mushrooms, and Swiss and cheddar cheese. Pork chops are grilled to perfection, and hand-battered chicken tenders are served with gravy, as they should be. Get a hot but meatless meal by ordering the vegetable platter, which allows selection of four sides. And just in case you didn’t get enough waffles and chicken for breakfast, the platter is served all day long – eat it for dinner, too!
