The company prides itself on not only serving up snappy shakes, but also providing a healthier lifestyle to its consumers. Whether you want to slim down or bulk up, the King has the perfect smoothie for you. With names like The Gladiator, The Activator, The Shredder, and the Slim-N-Trim, how can you go wrong? These are just a few of the fun selections you can make in a variety of delicious flavors. Fruits, nuts and veggies can also be added to make your beverage delectable. Don’t forget to ask about smoothies made with Chobani Greek Yogurt.

Smoothies With A Purpose

Any smoothie you decide on can be customized to your individual health needs. Wellness enhancers like muscle building powder and other multi-vitamins can be added in just for you. Make any smoothie a meal! Add a meal enhancer to your next drink and get the protein and fiber you need to keep full until your next meal. Ginkgo Biloba, Green Tea and Siberian Ginseng, along with Vitamins A, C, and E, are just a few herbs and natural supplements that can be found in many of the drinks.

Whether you’re trying to lose a few pounds, have a little more energy at the end of the day or simply feel better about your diet, each and every smoothie is blended for a specific purpose. Both locations in Beaumont now offer vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free options. The King also has Kid Kups, healthy drinks designed for the little ones.

What we ate (well … drank)

We tried two of the most popular flavors at the Phelan location, Angel Food and the Pep Upper.

Angel Food – Our first drink was made with real strawberries, bananas, non-fat milk, vanilla extract, turbinado (a raw sugar) and soy protein. This thing was delicious! At first, we thought it was going to have some sort of overly powering cake flavor like the name might suggest, but we were quickly proven wrong when bits of strawberries were found in our straws. This mixture is so heavenly, angels would drink it. The smoothie was located in the “Trim Down” section of the menu, and we can see why. The great tasting drink kept us full for hours and gave us a little extra zing for running around.

Pep Upper – Created by combining fresh strawberries, passion fruit blend, papaya juice blend, vanilla protein blend, turbinado and something called X-Treme Caffeine, this baby packed a punch. We added mango puree to enhance our tropical experience. This energy-infused smoothie was quite tasty and definitely served its purpose. The creamy concoction left us with a more focused mind and an extra pep in our step. We would recommend this, or anything else in the energy section of the menu as a quick breakfast substitute. The effects lasted all day.
